Vapor World Over The Mind Patch Notes
What changed after demo feedback—and what to re-test.
This patch notes page consolidates publicly described post-demo changes for Vapor World: Over The Mind so returning players know what feels different.
Controls and movement overhaul
Paslow’s movement is being rebuilt: weight, speed, and action transitions. The first chunk of that overhaul shipped after Steam Next Fest feedback. Re-learn sprint exits, roll distance, and jump timing using the controls guide. Do not trust demo muscle memory blindly.
Combat rebalance
Certain boss attacks that could not be blocked or dodged were reworked into proper parryable patterns. Enemy behavior was retuned for rhythm and fairness. If you bounced off a Seed in the demo, retry with the method in the boss guide and refreshed parry fundamentals.
Stealth fixes
Enemies no longer detect you through cover when they should not. Hiding works as intended more consistently—practice again with how to stealth.
Tutorials
Core mechanics like rolling and sprinting now have clearer in-game tutorials. Complete them even as a veteran so you do not miss verbs.
Cutscene skip
Major cinematics and boss intros can be skipped after failure, speeding practice loops during Seeds.
Localization and bugs
Translations improved; missing text that caused invisible menus was addressed. Bug fixes mentioned across community notes include save/load blockers, combat area issues, cutscene control locks, rendering tweaks, and assorted visual/audio fixes. If you still hit blockers, report them through official links.
What to re-test after every patch
- Movement feel in an empty hall
- Parry timing on a basic Trauma
- Stealth detection behind cover
- Projection startup frames for your best builds
- Performance against system requirements
Upcoming watchlist
Visual and animation overhaul plans for Paslow have been teased as “what’s next” after the movement chunk. Track that presentation pass on the dedicated Paslow overhaul watch page, and keep overall content volume on the roadmap. Demo veterans should also re-read the demo guide so festival habits do not fight the patched weight.
How this wiki reacts
After major patches we update combat pages first, then walkthrough assumptions, then tier rankings. Bookmark this page and the Updates Hub.
Patch notes are the difference between blaming yourself and blaming an outdated build. Read them, then drill for ten minutes before a Seed rematch.
Reading official posts
When Steam news drops, skim headers for Controls, Combat, Stealth, Tutorials, Localization, and Bug Fixes—the same buckets used here. Copy timestamps into your notes so you know which advice predates the patch.
Wiki lag
We summarize quickly, but official text always wins. If our tip conflicts with a five-minute-old Steam post, trust Steam and ping the discrepancy later.
Bug-fix buckets worth retesting
Save/load blockers, combat music loops, cutscene control locks, and rendering quirks were called out after the festival. If you reproduce one, capture video and report via official links with a build note.
Practice after reading
Do not only bookmark this page. Spend ten minutes: hall movement, ten deflects, one stealth cover test, one Projection startup. Then open the boss guide if a Seed is your wall.
Relationship to other update pages
Roadmap = content volume. Patch notes = shipped feel. Paslow overhaul watch = presentation still ahead. Read all three before assuming the demo you remember equals August EA.
Closing note for patch-notes
Keep this page beside your pad during Early Access. When a tip conflicts with a fresh Steam post, trust Steam, then update your notes. Return to the Guides Hub or Updates Hub for the next bottleneck instead of grinding the same mistake.
